Welcome to the Fort St John Women's Indoor Soccer League
About Us
The FSJWSL is run by volunteers from within the league and we do our best to make each season fun and safe for all.
We play two indoor seasons, fall/winter and spring. Games are played twice a week on Sundays, Mondays and/or Fridays at the Kids Arena Fieldhouse located at 9615 96th Avenue in Fort St. John, BC. New turf and netting was installed in the summer of 2020.
New to FSJWSL:
All skill and fitness levels are welcome. If you don't sign up with a team, you will be assigned one and your team captain will contact you before the start of the season. They will get you set up with a jersey and add you to their email list and update you with schedules and notifications.
Registration:
The registrar will only accept registrations twice in the season, during start of season and mid season. The cut off times will be posted. These are sent as a spreadsheet to the ASA (Alberta Soccer Association) and processed for insurance purposes. This includes all players as well as coaches.
All players registered on a team in the FSJWSL must have attained her 16th birthday at the time of registration to play in the FSJWSL, with no special permission being given to underage players.

Basic Rules
Gear:
Clean indoor/turf soccer shoes or running shoes must be worn as well as shin pads, soccer socks and shorts with no pockets or zippers. Goalies may choose to wear pants. Teams with sponsors may have jerseys to loan and some teams may have you purchase your own. All jerseys must be numbered.
No jewelry, no piercings that show, no hair pins or metal hair clips.
Play:
Our league prohibits slide tackling, slide blocking, and playing the ball when you have fallen. Respect the goalies. Clean play keeps us all safe.
Alberta Soccer Association (ASA) rules and guidelines apply.
Only registered players and coaches are permitted on the bench and pitch for insurance reasons.
Referees:
All games will have at least one referee. When a referee makes a call, it is not to be disputed. Concerns with referee calls/actions can be forwarded to fsjwsl@gmail.com and will be addressed by the referee director.
Spring League
The FSJWSL Spring League is played once a week during April, May and June. It is a fun random mix of our recreational and competative teams and a great short season to come see if soccer is for you!

Fall/Winter Season
The Fall/Winter season is the most popular league, running annually from October until March. There are two divisions (recreational and competitive) and teams play twice a week. In addition to regular league games, there are two tournaments per year; the Season Opener Tournament and the Year-End Tournament, both with a social!
Teams in both divisions are always looking for new team players! All fitness and skill levels are welcome.
